digital duchess goes live
Well we just finished another website project with one of our original clients. Kerry is a great person to work with and we always love working with here on her many different endeavors.

The Digital Duchess website was a rework of the basic layout and functionality of her original home based computer consulting business site, Digital Alliance. The color scheme turned out great and once again Kerry is extremely happy with the site. Thanks again Kerry, we appreciate your business!

In fact we are starting another website project for her non-profit computer donation organization entitled 'Karma Computers'... Stay Tuned for some updates.

css, xml, fonts, and flash, happily together at last
We are happy to offer complete formating with any textfield made in Flash with custom fonts, XML, and CSS formatting of that textfield. This really opens up possiblities with website and component layout while being incredibly flexible when changes need to be made. This also allows the ability to display as many different fonts within one textfield and also change font size, color, and alignment of these fonts.

Well, what does that mean for me, the client? The answer is you have the ability to easily change the appearance of your content via the CSS style sheet without having to change anything else (fla, swf, or xml changes are needed). At anytime with a program as simple as Notepad, you can drastically change the appearance of your site and its content.

Our website is an example of the current formating available to you and your project. On our homepage there is only two textfields that contain 2 fonts, 5 or 6 different sizes, and just as many color changes. Enjoy.

deep linking added
Man, have we been waiting for this day with great anticipation and it is finally here. 'Deep Linking' within Flash what a concept! We'll yeah, but what the heck is that right?

Well, while you browse the Internet from place to place and page to page, your browsing history is kept for you. This history enables you to utilize the Forward and Back navigation arrows in your browser. However, complete flash sites like JM Design previously worked differently. Basically you would land on the home page > then browse around within the site and then you hit back..."ahhh, where did our site go? This just took me to the site I was at before JM Design."

Well, that is no longer the case. This also allows you to direct anyone to a particular page within a Flash Site like this. So bring on the forward and back buttons, we dare you ;)

"JM Design's website is awesome! Very solid. I actually think my favorite aspect of it is their broad range - of medium, of aesthetic, etc. It comes across to me as if they are open to exploring a lot of styles, and likes to let the nature of their subject (or client, etc) shine through, rather than impose their own design agenda - which is exactly what good designers should do." - "All in all, I was blown away with the quality and extensiveness of JM Design's work, and I think they have a great potential to make a big name for themselves!"

project Web Banner Advertisement
clients Glass McClure Ad Agency/Amtrak
details This is the very first project we completed for GM. We loved the original ideas for the banner and by using TweenLite tweening class's for movement and transitions we were able to keep the file size at 30kb. The level of detail would suggest otherwise. Amtrak and GM were very pleased with the end result.

project Web Banner Advertisement
clients Glass McClure Ad Agency/Duraflame
details The project was extremely unique and required a flame to be created from green leaves. We ended up using a looping animation of 15-20 frames due to the 30kb requirement. The level of detail is still impressive considering the overall file size. We also utilized TweenLite to accomplish movement and opacity of assets.

project Television Commercial

details This project required us to add audio feed, animation, and wording to sync together while keeping the time constraint to 15 seconds. This was created for film/tv so file size wasn't a concern. This is a frame by frame animation which utilizes Tweener to control timeline.
